Working to make a real difference

Our project with Derian House Children’s Hospice funds some fabulous support work with young adults in their 20s. Transitions Support worker, Shelly introduces her work and the work of the hospice along with contributions from the young adults we are glad to be helping.

This is the real work and it is what we are all about. Shelly has had to adapt the forms of support that can be offered during the COVID19 pandemic as a consequence of all the restrictions on face-to-face contact in community-based work.

Despite these limitations, valuable relationships are being fostered and much needed support is being provided.

Shelly is working with 14 young adults and a further 11 approximately will be receiving support in 2021.

We have an ambitious yet realistic commitment to add to the capacity for increasing referrals at Derian House and to fund more support workers with other hospices.

To achieve this, we need your help. Support us in any way you can.
