2021 so far..
It has been a busy year so far for LifeNoW. As the restrictions have lifted, Shelley and the team have been working hard to support young adults in the North West. We are in contact with approximately 50 young adults each quarter. Shelly specifically delivers around 30 – 40 support sessions to young adults which can range from developing life skills to planning for onward transitions in life and where appropriate finding supported living and employment opportunities.
Our big news is the decision to recruit our second worker and this will fulfil our strategic ambition to have two employed workers by 2021. We have been a little delayed in getting this new post established and that’s because it is to be a nursing post that will add in much needed skills and expertise. Interviews will take place in late November.
This role will also connect with Greater Manchester NHS and Bolton Hospice who have been looking at our model of support and together we envisage a broadening of the referral base to include this wider geography as we go into 2022.
We have been applying to a good number of funding trusts with the help of Chell Perkins who are experts in supporting charities to raise funds. In this year we expect over £20K in trust funds income to materialise. All of this goes towards funding the salaries of our workers.
We have also been blessed by the prayers of our supporters and their generous individual giving. St. Cuthbert’s Church Fulwood and Interwoven Church are also providing much needed financial support.
LifeNoW supporters Jim and Julie Carter Lindsey have been planning since 2020 to take a beaten up old car on a wild 10 000 mile drive to Ulan-Ude in Mongolia, from Lytham St Annes in Lancashire so they can raise funds for charities and one of those charities is us! Follow Jim and Julie on Facebook as they take on the Mongol Rally in 2022. If you want to support Jim and Julie directly, please go to this Just Giving page.
LifeNoW has 5 trustees at present. We could definitely do with one or two more people to step forward and become a trustee. This would increase our reach across the North West and North Wales as we aim to achieve our goal of 8 workers by 2025 and a sustainability budget of £450,000. If you have a heart for our work and would like to talk with us, please email email@example.com.
Christmas is coming!
As we head toward Christmas this year, LifeNoW is now a registered charity with Amazon Smile. So, for all your online amazon purchases, please consider “Life Now Ltd” Blackburn as your charity of choice for support and we will receive a small amount for every purchase you make via amazon smile. Find out more HERE .
Our online Charity Shop is also gearing up for Christmas with some rather lovely clothing, all ethically produced and shipped to your door. All the proceeds from sales go into the charity to support our work. Go shopping.
